What a hidden gem. It's on the side entrance of the Super 88 market. I've passed it a couple times, but finally decided to try it.
I think this place is better than the Ganku Itteksu ramen place in Brookline because the broth is SO much more rich in flavor. I got the Kakara Men ramen on the menu, and it was probably one of the best bowls of ramen I've had.
The noodles were cooked perfectly, the soft boiled egg was delicious and creamy and the broth was perfect. I am extremely happy to have found this place because it's so good and reasonably priced. The bowls ranged from $11-14 depending on what kind of ramen.
The atmosphere: the place itself is quite small, it gives me a hole-in-the-wall vibe. The service was excellent and quick.
The only thing I thought was weird was that they couldn't substitute different toppings although they were the same price... -

I was pleasantly surprised by Isshindo Ramen!
Both my friend and I ordered the Isshindo Ramen. The broth was light but it was packed with bold flavors. I'm used to drinking lots of water in between bites but I didn't have to do that with this one. The pork was perfectly seared and the noodles were nice and chewy. For $12 a bowl, it was definitely worth it. The takoyaki was more batter than octopus so definitely could be skipped. -

Even though there are improvements, I can't get over how the broth has no body. I guess I'm used to richer full body tonkotsu broths while this one just feels and tastes "light". Since I wasn't impressed with the spicy miso last time I ordered the gyokai version which involves fish broth. Markedly better and the spice was on point. This time the slices of pork were incredibly generous, thick, and tender. I also added butter corn to my ramen.
Service is good. They don't provide iced water but you can ask for ice. Still does not replace the former. Seems like Isshindo will also be expanding their menu to offer curries and such though! -

It isn't actually in the food court area but at the entrance to the actual market.
The spicy Karaka men which was perfect on a cold day! The broth was so tasty and flavorful but not overly fatty/salty where you can only drink the soup while eating noodles. I was drinking spoonfuls of that soup. The spice was also perfectly spiced so you can taste the umami flavor of the soup with a hint of heat. The noodles were perfect texture and so yummy. I also liked that all the Ramens comes with toppings included and 1/2 an egg. The egg was a little overcooked for my taste.
I'll definitely be back! -

This is an awesome place to grab a meal! Ramen tastes excellent, service is good, prices are reasonable, portion sizes are generous, and location is great (it's next to a supermarket that also has a food court with good food and boba, and there's FREE PARKING)!
My boyfriend and I have come here a couple times for late dinner. The restaurant is usually pretty busy but we've never had to wait to be seated nor wait too long for our food to come out. The setting is pleasant with good music (the last time we went they were playing some kind of jazz fusion that we had never heard before but that was nice background music for dining). Service was prompt; we got our waters refilled regularly.
The standard ramens (i.e. the ones you can get at virtually every ramen restaurant like shoyu, miso, and tonkotsu) that we've tried all tasted as expected with good quality. One time I decided to explore a bit and tried the tomato veggie ramen. It tasted exactly like how I imagined it would be, but bolder flavors and thus better! It's very tomato heavy as you'd expect, and definitely brings out the sweetness in tomatoes which I really like. I am not a huge fan of the texture of tomatoes so I tend to shy away from tomato dishes, but I love the flavor of tomato so this dish was perfect for me. Definitely recommend giving it a try! Next time I go back I won't hesitate to try another non-standard dish.
